“Ask, and it shall be given to you. Seek, and you shall find. Knock, and the door will be opened.”
Today’s Gospel was simple, yet it settled deep.
And I sat there, quietly wondering:
What have I stopped asking for?
What prayers did I tuck away because I thought God wasn’t listening?
What doors have I stopped knocking on
because I assumed they were permanently closed?
But maybe…
it wasn’t a no.
Maybe it was a not yet.
Maybe it was a redirection.
Or maybe, I was being prepared
for something I never thought to ask for—
because I was too busy carrying the weight alone.
God doesn’t get tired of our voices.
He doesn’t keep score of repeated prayers.
He just listens—
patiently, lovingly,
even when we don’t make sense.
Even when all we can say is,
“Lord, please.”
So today, I ask again.
With less fear.
With more trust.
And a heart that believes:
Sometimes, what I’m asking for
is already on its way.
