Ferry Tales in Hong Kong

Our second day in Hong Kong began bright and early—because we had two iconic destinations to explore: Victoria Peak and Ocean Park. And as first-timers in the city, we were beyond excited!

One thing I will never forget about this trip: the walking! We walked a lot—but trust me, I wasn’t complaining. Every step offered a new view, a new photo opportunity, and a deeper connection to the city.

To get to Victoria Peak from Kowloon, we had to cross Victoria Harbour. Since there are no pedestrian walkways, our best option was the Star Ferry—a charming way to soak in the harbour views.

📍 From the end of Nathan Road, we made our way to the ferry terminal.
🚢 Boarded at Tsim Sha Tsui Pier and crossed over to Central (Pier 8).

🎡 Quick Stop at the Hong Kong Observation Wheel

As soon as we arrived at Central Pier, we couldn’t resist stopping to admire and take photos of the beautiful Hong Kong Observation Wheel. (Of course, more photo ops! 📸) pictures. haha

🚋 Riding the Iconic Peak Tram

From Central, we took the Peak Tram, a historic funicular railway that transports visitors up and down the steep slope of Victoria Peak. (Sadly, I accidentally deleted my tram photo—sob!—but the memory is vivid.)

The ride itself was steep, thrilling, and offered some sneak peeks of the city skyline as we ascended. The anticipation kept building.

The panoramic city and harbour views are outstanding – you really get a sense as to just how insanely huge Hong Kong is. This is the moment when we realized that Hong Kong consists a hundred percent of skyscrapers – entirely!

🏙️ Victoria Peak: Where the Sky Kisses the City

Once we reached the summit, we were welcomed by panoramic views of Hong Kong’s endless skyscrapers and the sparkling harbour. It was surreal! Truly, this was the moment we realized that Hong Kong is 100% vertical living.

The view from the top was breathtaking—skyscrapers layered like a futuristic painting, the harbour shimmering below, and a gentle breeze sweeping across the Peak.

📍 Did you know? Victoria Peak is the highest point on Hong Kong Island, and the most popular tourist attraction for first-time visitors. It’s a must.

🍦 A Sweet Surprise

Before leaving the Peak, we grabbed a dessert that looked like soft-serve yogurt and tasted just as heavenly. (I forgot the name—but I’ll be on the lookout for it again someday!)
