My friends and I rarely see each other, but when we do, it’s like no time has passed at all. That kind of friendship—effortless, comfortable, and full of spontaneous plans.
We originally planned to visit Aloguinsan’s Hidden Beach, but last-minute minds (and indecisive hearts) had other plans. The next option was The Ranch in Toledo, but majority of us had been there one too many times. So… we did what any free-spirited barkada would do:
We drove.
No exact plan. No clear destination. Just a car, good company, and a vague sense of adventure. 😂
Almost four hours later—tired, hungry, and slightly annoyed—we ended up at West 35 Eco Mountain Resort in Gaas, Balamban.
And let me tell you: it was worth it.
West 35 is nestled at Kilometer 35 along the Cebu Transcentral Highway, roughly a 45-minute to 1-hour drive from JY Square in Lahug.
But once you’re there? Instant calm.
Fog-kissed hills, cool breeze, and panoramic views.
For me, it felt like a little slice of Tagaytay—minus the crowd.
A place where peace doesn’t need silence, just the right view and the right people.
We walked around, breathed in fresh mountain air, and just let the day unfold slowly.
No itinerary. No rush. Just rest.

After the refreshing highland escape, we capped off our day with a sumptuous dinner at Lantaw, SRP Branch.
The sea breeze, city lights, and a table full of laughter (and food, of course) made everything complete.

Here’s to unplanned detours, cooler air, and friendships that never feel old.
Rest found us—at the West.
With love,
Anj ❤
