Optimistic October- 2021: HOPE

Don’t overlook the simple things

In a world where certainty often feels just out of reach, I’ve learned that one of the kindest things we can do for ourselves is to plant little seeds of hope—tiny, beautiful things to look forward to, no matter how small. They don’t have to be life-changing or grand. They just need to be real. Meaningful. Anchoring. As I step into this new month, I’m choosing to set my tone with optimism. Not because everything is perfect, but because I want to walk into October with intention, softness, and a heart tuned toward light. And so, I’ve taken a quiet moment to list three simple joys I’m looking forward to—three things that remind me of why it’s still good to hope.

First, there’s our Batch’s 2nd UK Anniversary—a celebration not just of time passed, but of growth, courage, and the invisible threads that held us together through those uncertain beginnings. It’s a milestone wrapped in memories and resilience. Then, there’s Mama’s birthday—a day to honour the woman who has been my quiet strength, my shelter, and my biggest why. Her love is stitched into everything I do, often in ways even she doesn’t realise. And lastly, I’m looking forward to simply continuing my current read. Because sometimes, there’s nothing more comforting than curling up under a blanket, book in hand, getting lost in another world where the pace is slower, and the characters remind you that life—even fictionally—is worth sitting still for.

What about you? What are three things you’re looking forward to this October? They don’t have to be big. They don’t need to be shiny or picture-perfect. Maybe it’s a slow morning with coffee. A walk under gold-tipped trees. A long-awaited catch-up with a friend. Sometimes, the smallest moments bring the biggest joy. This is your gentle reminder: don’t overlook the simple things. They often hold the most magic.

So here’s to October—whatever it brings. I’m smiling into this month with you, with hope in my pocket and gratitude in my chest.

With love,
Anj 😊
