Exploring London: Five Years of Adventure

For the past five years, London has quietly become more than just a destination for me—it’s become a familiar rhythm, a sanctuary of stories, and a place of rediscovery. Just three hours away from where I live, this relatively short journey has offered me the kind of adventures that stay with you long after the train pulls into the station.

With each visit, I uncover something new—a different street, a tucked-away café, a memory waiting to be made. London never shows all of itself at once. And maybe that’s why I keep coming back.

No matter how many times I visit, some sights never lose their magic.

Rising slowly above the city in one of its glass capsules during golden hour is a ritual I’ve come to love. Watching the Thames shimmer below and the skyline bathed in amber light—it always takes my breath away.

with its fairytale-like towers and historic charm. I often find myself strolling the nearby riverbank, letting the hum of the city surround me while the bridge stands tall in timeless beauty.

The chime of its bells is more than just sound—it’s a feeling. A reminder that I’m in a city steeped in grandeur and grace.

Each trip wouldn’t be complete without losing myself in the charm of Notting Hill.
There’s something whimsical about its colorful houses, leafy lanes, and creative buzz.
Portobello Road is where I always end up—on market days especially, when the street bursts into life with vintage treasures, curious antiques, and the comforting scent of street food lingering in the air.

Walking through Notting Hill is like wandering through a beautifully painted canvas that’s alive and moving.

London’s food scene is a journey in itself, and I’ve had the pleasure of sampling some of its best bites.

🍝 At Bon Gusto, I found comfort in hearty Italian dishes served in a cozy, welcoming space. Every meal there feels like a hug.

🦞 Then there’s Burger & Lobster—where simplicity is celebrated. Their no-fuss menu is all about bold, satisfying flavors, and the novelty of choosing between a juicy burger or a buttery lobster never gets old.

🥢 And when I crave something vibrant and flavourful, I head to Little Korea in Chinatown. Bibimbap, bulgogi, kimchi—the plates are full of soul and spice, always served with a buzz of energy that lifts your spirits.

💫 A Journey Beyond the Miles

These past five years of traveling to London have been more than occasional weekend getaways.
They’ve been chapters of my own unfolding story.

Every visit has been an act of self-care, a moment of escape, a step toward rediscovery.
From meeting strangers who feel like old friends, to catching sunsets over the Thames, to learning that the best adventures are often the ones unplanned—London has taught me so much.

And though it’s just three hours away, the joy, connection, and inspiration it brings me stretch far beyond distance.

So whether I’m watching the city twinkle from the heights of the London Eye, strolling through Notting Hill with coffee in hand, or enjoying a plate of sushi in Chinatown, I know one thing for sure:

London is a part of me now.

A place I’ll keep returning to—not just for the sights or the food, but for how it makes me feel: curious, alive, and at home.

Here’s to five years of London memories—
And to many more hidden corners waiting to be found.

With love,
Anj 🏙️
